Deputy Chief Mark Shaw
Deputy Chief Mark Shaw is responsible for all law enforcement and fire rescue activities including planning, administrative management, personnel matters, and equipment maintenance. Deputy Chief Shaw began his law enforcement/fire rescue career in 1990 when he joined Indian River County as a paramedic. He moved to North Palm Beach in 2000 as a Public Safety Officer with State certifications as a police officer, paramedic, and firefighter. In 2004 Shaw joined Indian River Shores as a Public Safety Officer, was promoted to Sergeant in 2012 and to Lieutenant in May, 2013. He was then promoted to Captain in December, 2017. Deputy Chief Shaw graduated from Indian River State College with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Safety Administration. He is also a recent graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy class 271 and the Southern Police Institute Administrators officers course class 144.
